The General Debate continues today with statements from Australia, Spain, Singapore, Jordan, Canada, Ireland, Belgium, Algeria, Ghana, Colombia, and Sri Lanka. During the afternoon session, statements are secheduled to be made by delegates from Venezuela, Iraq, Myanmar, Albania, Paraguay, Ecuador, Nigeria, Malta, Kyrgyztan, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Mongolia. - Election of IAEA Board of Governors
The IAEA General Conference held elections today installing new Member States to the Agency's Board of Governors, the 35-member policymaking body. The newly constituted Board for 2004-05 now includes the following 35 States: Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Ecuador, France, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Tunisia, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America, Venezuela, Vietnam, and Yemen.
- Morocco and Tanzania sign Additional Protocols
More States are moving to allow IAEA safeguards inspectors more authority in verifying their nuclear programmes. Morocco and Tanzania this week signed Additional Protocols to their safeguards agreements with the IAEA. Morocco signed on Wednesday, 22 September, while Tanzania signed today, 23 September. - Israel Donates Painting to IAEA
Israel today presented a multi-dimensional image by Israeli artist Yaacov Agam as a gift to the IAEA. The artwork, entitled "From Darkness To Light", representes the power of energy and aspiration towards peace. It was presented to the IAEA in recognition of its contributions to promoting the safe, secure, and peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

- Technical Cooperation Meetings
Meetings of representatives of regional cooperative agreements in Africa, Asia, and Latin America continue today, as well as meetings of Member State representatives from the regions of Europe, West Asia, and ARASIA. Additionally, a Quadripartite meeting is also scheduled to take place.
