COMMUNICATION OF 11 SEPTEMBER 1998 RECEIVED FROM
THE PERMANENT MISSION OF KAZAKHSTAN
TO THE INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY

The text of a letter dated 11 September 1998 which the Director General has received from the Permanent Mission of Kazakhstan is - as requested - reproduced for the attention of the General Conference.

"The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the International Organizations in Vienna presents its compliments to the International Atomic Energy Agency and has the honour to inform that the Republic of Kazakhstan will pay its budget contributions in the near future.

The Permanent Mission would be grateful if the IAEA will take into consideration that the arrears will be settled and the Republic of Kazakhstan will not be deprived of its voting rights in General Conference Period.*/

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the International Organizations in Vienna avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the International Atomic Energy Agency the assurances of its highest consideration."

* It is suggested that pursuant to Rule 42(b) of the Conference's Rules of Procedures and in line with past practice, this request be referred to the General Committee for consideration.
